This release is all original songs except for two latin traditional tunes. This project includes two groups-Trio Sol and Los Cadillos. Trio Sol is classical, nylon string guitar(me) with bass and percussion. Glenn Rios on percussion, Mark Rubin(Bad Livers) on Acoustic bass and J.J. Barrera on Electric Bass. Some very interesting songs. I flipped out over the button accordion and learned so much from the great Conjunto stars. I found it was a style that I could write my own songs. That group was J.J. Barrera on Bajo Sexto (Tailgators) Kevin Smith(High Noon, Willie Nelson) on Upright bass and me on button accordion. The classic old time conjunto configuration. We actually had a Sunday gig that we played for years. El Submarino has certainly received a lot of airplay. A fun record with my friends. Cumbia de Medianoche has had a resurgence when the Point recorded it and gets played frequently on radio in Austin, Tx.
